Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect
- Account information: name, email address, and password (hashed).
- Health data: HRV (heart rate variability), resting heart rate, sleep hours, and VO2 Max — accessed via Apple HealthKit only after you grant explicit consent in the iOS app.
- Usage and analytics data: aggregated, non-identifying information about how you use the Service (page views, feature usage, error logs) to improve product quality.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate and improve the Service, deliver health data to your authorized coach, send transactional emails (account, billing, security), respond to support requests, and comply with legal obligations. We do not use your health data to train advertising models or third-party AI systems outside of providing your coach with insights.
3. Data Sharing
Health data is never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared with data brokers — ever. We share data only with: (a) your authorized coach, (b) trusted infrastructure providers under written confidentiality agreements (hosting, payments, email delivery), and (c) law enforcement when required by valid legal process.
4. Coach Access to Client Data
Clients explicitly authorize a single coach to view their health data by entering that coach's unique invite code in the CoachPulse iOS app. Coaches see only the data described above; they do not see other Apple Health categories. Clients may revoke coach access at any time, after which data sync stops immediately.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain account data for the life of your account plus 30 days after closure to honor any pending billing or legal obligations. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing us; we will delete or anonymize it within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
6. Your Rights
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your information, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to opt out of any sale of personal information (we do not sell your information). To exercise these rights, email us — we will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
7. HealthKit Special Terms
Per Apple's HealthKit requirements: HealthKit data accessed by CoachPulse is never used for advertising or other data-mining purposes, is never shared with third parties beyond the explicit coach relationship you authorize, is not disclosed to any party for any purpose other than providing your coach with insights, and is stored only on systems we control with encryption in transit and at rest.
8. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest, role-based access controls, audit logging, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to protect your data and will notify you promptly of any incident affecting your information.
9. Children's Privacy
CoachPulse is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we learn we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice at least 30 days before they take effect. The "Effective date" at the top reflects the latest revision.
